1. Information We Collect (Waitlist)
On this pre-launch site, we collect only the information you provide when joining our waitlist:
- Full name
- Email address
- Mobile number (optional)
- City and state (optional)
- Role (student / institute / recruiter) and role-specific details you choose to share
- UTM parameters (if you arrived via a marketing link) to understand how people find us
- A one-way hash (SHA-256) of your IP address, used only for spam prevention — your raw IP is never stored
2. How We Use Your Information
- To notify you when GradeCert launches
- To send you a single launch announcement email (no newsletters unless you opt in)
- To understand the demand distribution across trades, cities, and roles so we can prioritise our rollout
- To prevent spam and abuse
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.
3. Data Retention
Waitlist data is retained until 6 months after the platform's public launch, at which point it is deleted unless you have created a full account on the platform.
4. Your Rights (DPDPA 2023)
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Request erasure of your personal data
- Withdraw consent at any time

5. Cookies
This site uses a single session cookie for CSRF (security) protection — always active, as it is essential to the form working safely. No advertising cookies are set on this site.
We also use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use this site, so we can improve it. Analytics cookies are off by default and are only activated if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. Your IP address is anonymised before being sent to Google. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.
6. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS). Access to the waitlist database is restricted to authorised personnel. We apply industry-standard security practices including prepared statements, input validation, and rate limiting.
